The College Park Spring League came to a close tonight with a somewhat predictable finish to say the least. There were not many surprises in store as the top four teams in the league were also the top four teams in the tournament. There is little argument that the strongest partnership in Maryland Beer Pong right now is between Sean F. and Austin Lanham. Taking first place during the regular season, they had their eyes set on the gold and they came out victorious. After losing in the quarterfinals to Epsilon 7, Projectile Dysfunction made its way through the losers bracket to face the winner's bracket finalists Who's In Your Mouth?. Game 1 (video) of the final match easily went to Projectile Dysfunction who clearly reminded everyone that they were meant to be there. Game 2 (video) was not a typical championship game, however. Down to last cups, both teams missed a combined 12 shots in a row before last cups were hit, sending the game into overtime where Projectile Dysfunction finally came out on top by 1 cup and taking home the College Park gold. Consequently, Who's In Your Mouth? finished up in second place in both the tournament and the league. In 3rd place was Epsilon 7 who fell to the champs after beating them earlier in the tournament. Then in 4th place was Carlton Banks who were also defeated in a close game by Projectile Dysfunction. The 5th-6th place match-up was yet another close game in the tournament with The Odd Couple finishing over rookie team Ninja Squadron to claim the last spot into this year's State Championship.
